Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and the HouseHunt team covering your use of this website. By using HouseHunt you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

1. What HouseHunt is

HouseHunt is a listings platform for rental homes and rooms in Gurugram. We put renters and posters in touch. We are not a broker, agent, landlord or party to your tenancy. We do not inspect properties, verify ownership, draft agreements, hold deposits or process rent.

2. Your account

• You must be 18 or older to create an account.
• Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account.
• You are responsible for everything done through your account.

3. If you post a property

You confirm that:

• you have the right to list it — as the owner, an authorised agent, or a current occupant seeking a flatmate — and you state that role honestly;
• the rent, deposit, maintenance and brokerage figures are accurate at the time of posting, and you will update or remove the listing when they change or the property is taken;
• the photographs are of the actual property and are yours to use;
• the contact channel you give may be shown to interested renters.

You keep ownership of what you post, and you grant us a licence to display, format and distribute it for the purpose of running and promoting the service. We may review, edit for clarity, decline or remove any listing, and we may suspend accounts that mislead renters.

4. If you are looking for a place

• Verify the property, the documents and the person before you pay anything.
• Never pay a deposit, token or “booking amount” before seeing the property and confirming who you are dealing with.
• HouseHunt will never ask you for a payment, a password or an OTP. Treat any such request as fraud and report it.
• A blank cost on a listing means it was not provided — not that it is zero. Ask.

5. Things you must not do

• Post listings that are fake, duplicated, already rented, or deliberately underpriced to generate calls.
• Discriminate on grounds of religion, caste, region, gender, marital status, disability or food habits in a listing or in dealings arranged through the site.
• Scrape, copy or resell our content, or interfere with the service.
• Use another person’s contact details or impersonate anyone.
• Use the site for anything unlawful.

6. Content from public sources

Some listings are compiled from publicly posted advertisements. Those are labelled, and contact is routed to the poster’s own channel or the original post. If you posted such an advertisement and want it removed, email us and we will take it down.

7. Availability

The service is provided as-is. HouseHunt is in pilot: features change, coverage is limited to a few Gurugram sectors, and the site may be unavailable at times. We do not promise that any listing is accurate, current or still available.

8. Liability

We are responsible for running the platform. We are not responsible for the conduct of posters or renters, the condition or legal status of any property, or any agreement you enter into. To the extent the law allows, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.

9. Ending it

You can stop using HouseHunt and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless telling you would help someone cause harm.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Gurugram, Haryana have jurisdiction.
